It is fairly common place for vacation rentals (as opposed to hotels) to have a cleaning fee. This fee covers the cost of cleaning your space before your arrival and assuring it is stocked. Generally, hotels have much smaller spaces and have a housekeeping staff since they are cleaning multiple rooms. Therefore, they instead, embed the cost into the room price.

I am a long-time host on both Airbnb and VRBO. There are additional fees that must be paid by the guest and the host when booking on these platforms. You do receive an extra layer of customer service.
The benefit of booking direct is having immediate, direct contact with me and getting the best available rate. I can accept credit cards (an extra nominal fee applies) or checks.

The reviews speak for themselves. I have 5 star reviews on Google, Airbnb and VRBO. As a local host with a maintenance and housekeeping team, I have the ability to quickly be available to guests if issues arise. But my goal it to make your experience such that no issues arise.

Besides perusing our famous honky tonks (that’s the bars with music on Broadway), here’s a few things I would put on the to-do list. As a general rule, book early! A tour with the Pink Bus, Nashville Riverboats, the Capitol Building, a show at the Ryman, The Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room Cafe, Third Coast Comedy Club, House of Cards, karaoke at Sid Gold’s Request Room, Sonny’s, Santa’s Pub, Happy Does, Lipstick Lounge, a stroll of Nashville Farmer’s Market, Marathon Village, 5th and Broad. Staying longer? Check out the beautiful scenery as close as ½ hour from downtown: Beaman Park, Warner Parks, Machine Falls, Evins Mill, Percy Priest Lake, Old Hickory Lake, Mammoth Cave

I do not offer luggage storage outside of your check in/out times. However, there are several luggage storage companies in town. A fellow chamber member is offering a discount to my guests. You can book directly here:
https://storeandsnorenashville.com/ and use code WELCOME10 for 10% off your luggage storage reservation. -
At the Capitol District House, I have a dedicated alley parking pad. There is also street parking available. At Polk 404, I pay for a parking pass for my guests to utilize in a neighboring parking facility during their stay. My building does not have parking. There is also (metered) street parking. When going places, in general plan to pay for parking in the downtown and surrounding areas. Spothero can help you find a price that meets your budget. Make sure to bring your Smartphone charged and ready as many parking vendors require a smartphone to park.

Both of my properties are accessible to downtown activities without using the interstate (i.e. walkable). However, there are many hilly spots, sporadic lighting, broken sidewalks, unpredictible weather. Sometimes walking is not the best answer. Uber, Lyft and other ridesharing services are readily available. Nashville does also have public transportation called WeGo but it can take a long time to go short distances.

Check the weather the night before your travel, and maybe you’ll pack the right things! Ha! I follow the crew at Nashville Severe Weather. As a general rule, if its Fall or Spring, bring a weather proof jacket. If its Winter, bring a heavy coat. If it’s summer-we have A/C!
